THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD
The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. (Psalm 19:7 )
Holy life means to be set apart or separate ourselves from sin and evil.But how can we live a holy life? The Psalmist in the Bible cries out to God, “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word…. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you (Psalm 119:9, 11). We read in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” Yes! When we sincerely read the Word of God every day, Jesus comes into our heart and His Word purifies us and connects us with Him.
When I was a young boy, I used to read the Bible only because I was compelled to read it and always wondered what is going to be new to me in the Bible. I thought I knew all the stories of the Bible, growing up in a Christian environment, attending Sunday schools and listening to thousands of sermons. But, knowing very well that I will be punished by my dad if I don’t read the Bible, many times I had taken only the cover page of the Bible, placed a story book inside and pretended as if I was reading the Holy Bible.
But after I had given my life to Jesus, I spent more of my time with the Lord, waiting in His presence and longing to hear from Him. I started reading chapters after chapters of the Bible and God began to reveal the Biblical truths to me. Every time I opened my Bible, I placed my hands on the particular chapter and prayed that God would speak to my heart through those words. God will then reveal my shortcoming as I read the Word and the Holy Spirit convicts me. Then I plead to the Lord for His forgiveness and He cleanses my heart and grants me His divine peace.
Beloved! Psalm 19:7 says, “The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Proverbs 6:23 says, “This command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way of life. So, read His Word every day, and experience the divine cleansing of God in your heart. You will begin to enjoy your life with the Lord. Every day,God will cleanse you of your shortcomings and give you His strength to face the challenges of the day. God will show you the divine plans and purposes He has for your life and direct you in the path of blessings and honor. So start your day reading the Word of God and receive a brand new life!
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I come to You this day, desiring for a holy life. Master, cleanse me of my sins and deliver me from the shackles of darkness. LORD, from this day on, grant me Your divine grace to sit in Your presence and long to hear from You. Refresh my soul as I read Your word. Knowing well that You are a prayer answering God, I offer this prayer in the matchless name of my dear Lord Jesus Christ,
