“No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.” (Nahum 1:15)

Who are the ‘wicked’ according to the Bible? There are many verses which help us identify a person to be ‘wicked’. For instance 2 Timothy 3:2 tells us the characters which describe wicked people: “They will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy”. But according to the psalmist, these 2 traits summarise the wicked – arrogant and aggressive (Psalm 10:2-11). Their existence in our midst will not harm us as God promises to protect us and destroy them completely.

Also, it’s written “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him” (Nahum 1:7). As you trust in the Lord, you will enjoy the divine protection.

There was a magician who saw a God’s servant preaching the gospel on the streets and became angry. So, he and his friends threw a cobra on this servant of God. People who were gathered there ran away on seeing the cobra. But, the pastor did not get angry with him. Instead, he prayed that the magician may come into the light of salvation. Days rolled on. One day, a young boy approached this magician to do witchcraft against a girl and gave him Rs.500. Unusually when this magician started chanting spells, Jesus appeared and said, “She is my child, you cannot do anything against her.” The magician was amazed at seeing God. He believed Jesus and was transformed into a new creation. Now, he is preaching the gospel everywhere.

SCRIPTURE to LIFE

What a mighty transformation! A man who was in the dark, wielding dark forces was transformed as soon as he met Jesus. When you see natural calamities, sickness and dark forces striking the people around you, it is indeed a divine grace to have God’s protection amidst chaos. Christ will remove the evil oppression from your life and will set your free. You will enjoy divine blessing and protection. The protective covering on you will attract people to Jesus. Stay protected! Stay blessed!

Prayer:
Loving heavenly Father, I thank You for Your wonderful protection at all times. Your Name is a refuge for me. I believe that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Lord, I pray that Your divine protection upon me will draw many towards You. Let them come to the light of salvation.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
